Phillip Grant Butler
Phillip Grant Butler, 84, died Thursday, April 5, at hi* home in Sperryviile. Mr. Butler was a lifelong resident of Rappahannock, he was better known as Dr. Butler by his many friends. Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Ellen Butler, two son3 Gaylord Butter, of Sperryviile; and Sylvester Butler of West Virginia. Two daughters,«Mrs. Susie Mayors and Mrs. Lizzie Starks, both of Sperryviile, two brothers, Ellie Butler of Willow Grove, Pa^ John Butler ofSperryville and Robert Butler of New fork. Pour sisters are Mrs. Carrie Wigington of Sperryviile; Miss Josie Butler of New York; Mrs. Susie Mathews, of Newport Rhode Island, and Mrs. Aliese Green of New York. 15 grandchildren and four great grandchildren survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 7, at the Hopewell Baptist church, Rev. Carroll pfffoisting. Active pallbearers were James Butler, Howard Butler, Thomas Wigington, Philip Jones, Fred Frye, and Walker Gordon.
