Following a lively argument recently, I busied myself and located the saying that the group in the conversation was trying to get straight. Here it is:

But back to the wise man’s observation
about the weather and “nothing they kin do about it,” this is April. Along with all its beauty—and it is much—there is also temperamental rain and sunshine. It’s to be expected.
April is a flighty month in weather, and being a little flighty gives her a oertain charm. April’s weather is like a pleasant evening with a charming and temperamental companion: pleasant for the time, but a little too effervescent for constant company, and it given rise to the thought of thanks that it does not last the entire year.
