Democratic Candidates
Have No Opposition .
There will be no August primary election in Rappahannock since only one candidate has filed for each office.
As was stated by the democratic committee in a recent meeting, if only one candidate filed 60 days prtbr to the election, that candidate would automatically be declared the democratic candidate for the general election in November._ .
State Senator Raymond R. Guest is the unopposed democratic candidate for the 24th Senatorial district. The Hon. D. French Slaughter is the only candidate filed for the democratic primary for the House of Delegates.
The following county officers are declared the democratic candidates, since no opposition was filed:
James M. Settle, Clerk; Rayner V. Snead, Commonwealth Attorney; R. L. Brown, Treasurer; R. L. Massie, Commissioner of Revenue; J. W. Critzer, Sheriff; and Miss Margaret Compton, Justice of the Peace.
