Monahan—Pendleton
Trinity Episcopal Church Washington, was the scene Tuesday afternoon, June 12, at 4 o’clock, of the marriage of Miss Eleanor Hotchkiss Peudleton, daughter of the Reverend and Mrs. William Gibson Pendleton, and Lieutenant Thomas Vincent Monahan, United States Air Force, son of Mrs. Fowler W. Barker of Washington, D. C., and the late Vincent T. Monahan. Tlye ceremony was performed by the father of the bride.
Given in marriage by her uncle, Philip Smith Hotchkiss, the bride wore a wedding gown of candlelight satin, fashioned on princess lines with ‘ high neckline, long sleeves pointed over the wrists, and a full skirt ending in a circular train. Her full-length veil of imported illusion was attached to a cap of illusion and caught by lily-of-the-valley. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and babies’-breath.
The bride’s sister, Mrs. John Frank Elliott, was matron of honor. She wore a dress of aqua lace and nylon net fashioned with a lace jacket and full net skirt. She carried an arm bouquet of yellow roses.
The bridesmatrons were Mrs. Joseph Pleasant Cofer of Beckley, West Virginia, and Mrs. Theodor von Zielinski of Alexandria. They wore dresses of aqua and orchid net, identical in style with that of the matron of honor and carried bouquets of mixed spring flowers. The attendants’ headdresses were halos fashioned of flowers similar to those in their bouquets.
