Eighteen Rappahannock farmers heard Kenneth E. Loope“discuss “Grassland Farming" from the standpoint of comparative net income of farms in southwestern Virginia practicing grassland farming to those employing rotation farming.
Records showed farms compared to be similar in size while size of herds rwere identical. Both dairymen were considered good managers. Here are some of the figures from their farm records with the grassland farm compared with the crop rotation farm:
