Met With Miss Ebba Hitt
The Virginia Methodist Club of the M.E. Sunday School met on Monday night in the home of the teacher, Miss Ebba Hitt. Miss Betty Taylor Bruce called the meeting to order, after which the minutes of the last meeting were read by Julian Brown. The Scripture reading from the third chapter of John, verses 1 to 16 by Margaret Ann Devers was followed by a prayer. Next was a discussion to have a picnic at a later date to be announced. Elizabeth Smith led the group in songs and the games were directed by Buddy Devers. This being the last meeting until September the following officers Were elected: Maxgaret Ann Devers, president; Elizabeth Smith, vice president; Betty Taylor Bruee. secretary; Julian Brown, treasurer; Buddy Devers, song leader; Bobby Clater, game leader; Shirley Jenkins and Patsy Frazier were appointed to send birthday cards and cards to shut-ins.
