Lee Highway Hotel

The regular monthly meeting of the Womans Society of Christian Service of the Sperryville Methodist church, met Thursday evening, June 7, at eight o’clock in the dining room of the Lee Highway hotel, with Mrs. H. H. Aylor hostess. Mrs. Nina Brown, president, presided. After a call to worship she read the Scripture lesson from Mark 10, verses 47 to 56 inclusive, and a poem “Because of Thy Great Bounty”. Mrs. Aylor then led a round table discussion on “I too Shall Give”, the topic for the month, after which a prayer was offered. There were seven members and one visitor present. During the social hour Mrs. Aylor, assisted by her daughter-in-law Mrs. H, H. Aylor, Jr., served refreshments.

The Ladies Auxiliary of Trinity Episcopal church will sponsor a plate supper on the lawn at “Millermead,” home of Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Miller, on Saturday, June 23.
