The primary grades and the upper grades .each had art exhibits m sepal ate classrooms. Mrs. Walker's room had an unusual number of excellent drawings on display, and Nancy Wilsbn and Guntis Baltins were the two outstanding artists. They could, we believe, compete and hold their own in any elementary school art exhibit.
Betty Johnson, a sixth grade graduate, exhibited several very good drawings of horses.
The following pupils of the Sperryville school were awarded. “Perfect Attendance’’ pins for not having missed a day during the 1950-51 school session, in spite of snow drifts, high water, measles, mumps, whooping cough, and what not:
William Lee Atkins, Wallace Nethers, and Ruth Atkins in the second grade. Nancy Brown, Shirley Cloud, and Lou Dodson in the third grade. Hugh Smith Atkins in the fourth grade. Robert Frazier, Glen Updike, Janet Dodson, Janet Lillard, J. W. Brown, Marie Clark, Mary Eubank and Mildred Foster in the fifth grade. Bobby Clater, Lewis Pullen, Dolen Romine, Russell Sisk, Betty Bruce, and Milly Sisk in the sixth grade. Francis Bruce, John Eubank, Willie Estes, Colbert Foster, Mabel Hawkins, and Richard Racer in the Seventh Grade. Richard Racer has not missed a day during his nine years in school."
