The four county PTA got off this year to a flying start with a group of 'energetic people and promising plans. Mrs. Lucy Childs, after a year of successful leadership, resigned as president and was succeeded by Mrs. Geraldine Washington of Culpeper. Other officers are. Mrs. M. L. Jackson, vice-president, Orange county; Mr. Dan Washington, treasurer, Madison county; Mr. Charles Lewis, secretary, Madison county; Miss J. C. Moore, assistant secretary, Carver High Schol; Mrs. Sandra Mason, reporter, Carvei; High Schol; Rev. E. Wheeler, chaplain, Madison Training School.
Please remember that this is a Pour-County PTA, your presence and help is needed.
Programs
The school attempts to arrange for a variety of programs throughout the school year, which meets the educational, recreational, and entertaining needs of the students as well as the public, to whom we have alwfcys extended an open invitation. The regular school assembly program is on Friday at 11:45 a.m. Two Fridays ago the student body and staff were well enlightened and entertained by a “Speech Choir,” presented by Miss Pearl <Reed and the members of her Public Speaking Class. The choir consisted of 22 Voices, and recited works from some of America’s outstanding Negro writers. This group may be heard in the near future over station WJMA, Orange.
