Mark 50th Anniversary
With nieces, nephews, brothers, sisters, and neighbors in to greet them, Mr. and Mrs. William Strother Brady celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Tuesday, January 29, at their home near Flint Hill. %. >.
A county newspaper published about this time 50 years ago, would have carried an item something like this: “Mr. and Mrs. •George Washington Pullen have announced the marriage of their daughter, Ida Bessie, to William Strother Brady. The marriage took place January 29, 1902, at the home of the bride’s parents in Clark Hollow, with the Rev. Mr. Clark, Methodist minister o£ Flint Hill, officiating."
There is no strangeness in the fact that all the family kin of nieces and nephews was present for the occasion of the golden wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Brady are first cousins, and three of the Brady brothers married three of the Pullen sisters, while a Brady sister married a Pullen brother. It’s strictly a family affair—-this getting married!
