Deadline Set for 1951

Crop Grain Loans

Farmers have only until January 31, 1952, to take out Commodity Credit Corporation loans on the 1951 crops of soybeans, ■wheat, barley, oats, and rye, the Production and Marketing Administration has announced.—--=Loans

on eligible grades of these crops are available through local county PMA offices, C. D. Jordan, the PMA State Chairman, said. He also reminded farmers of the loan rates effective in Virginia. i %

The base loan rate on the 1951 crop of soybeans is $2.39 per bushel. The wheat rate varies by countes from $2.33 to $2.39, and for other small grans are barley $1.26, rye $1.42, and oats 83 cents a bushel.

In the report of the January meetng of the Board of, Supervisors the statement was made that A. Ht Buckner voted no on the election of W.aC. Campbell as chairman of the board. This was an error and tHte no-vote was made by Mr. Campbell, himself. The two gentlemen were sitting side by "side, with their backs to the people in attendance, and hence the mis* take.. The paper regrets the, error and is glad to comply with a request to correct it. - v
