Clergy Challenged ,
It is unfortunate that tike “Brass Hats” of the National Council of Churches create the impression that the majority of Protestant ministers are opposed to our American capitalistic system. Such is not the case. A poll recently made by the American Institute of Public Opinion reveals that the vast majority of clergymen believe in, and are prepared to defend, our American system.
The sad thing is that the general public is not aware of this. The noisy minority in the National Council of Churches is the voice the citizens hear. And that Voice rants against business profits, which constitute the keystone of our American capitalistic system. This minority would have us believe that there is something sinister and ignoble about the profit motive and that it is incompatible with Christianity.
