In a recent survey taken in Connetieut farmers were asked the question: “Do you know'what a soil conservation district is? It was found that only one farmer in 66 could give a satisfactory answer. The soil conservation district was often confused with fedfiral agencies.
If the committee approves, it gives notice of a referendum at which all landowners in the district may vote. If the required percentage of voters are in the affirmative the committee then appoints two supervisors who file application for a certificate of incorporation. If the certificate is granted the district comes into legal existence and fan' be dissolved only by referendum at the end of five years.
