character when it dries; it then carries on as an impediment to easy movement by becoming a clod, hard and baked. This stuff, when it dries out, is just more dirt, offers no resistance. I remember the' time Granddaddy went dofwn to the bottom and had to take an axe to each individual clod before he beat them into submission. Over here I can kick what puny clods there are and they fall apart. Really, this is a very poor grade of mud.
