FLAVORING AGENTS
Although more and-more medicines are being made available in candy form, flavoring agents must still be added to many prescriptions to make them palatable. Some drugs can be pleasantly disguised only by certain specific flavoring agents. Therefore, the druggist must be familiar with them all. Common flavoring agents are the oils of peppermint and wintergreen, citrous extracts (orange, lemon, lime), the oils of the vanilla plant and of the cacao bean (chocolate).
