Air Force Seeking

Higfc School Graduates

High school graduates* can now apply directly from civilian life for training as an Aircraft Observer and an Air Force commission, the Recruiting Station in Culpeper announced today.

After fourteen months of training cadets are assigned as officer crew members of bombers, interceptors, reconnaisance, and transport planes.

Previously, a college education was required for training as an aviation cadet. However the age limit is the same, 19-26%.

Mrs. H. B. Winfrey was.hostess to the Woman’s Missionary Society of the Reynolds Memorial Baptist church which met Saturday afternoon at her home. Mrs. S. E. Hening led a very interesting program from the subject, “Abundant Life,” with Mrs. Smith offering the closing prayer. Ten members were present.

AM1SSVILLE BIBLE SCHOOL ..

The Union Vacation Bible School held at the Amissville Baptist church closed Friday, July 17 with an excellent commencement program and a refreshing picnic on the church grounds.

The enrollment was 62 with the highest attendance being 58. Refreshments were served each day to the pupils. Highlights of the school were the music, the handwork, and the religious movies.

The following people served on the faculty with Miss Marion Trevillian of Charlottesville as principal. Mrs*. A. C. Latham Jr., Mrs. A. Woodward, Intermediate Dept.; Mrs. Catherine Riley, Mrs. Mae Lebisch and Mrs. Grace Reid, Jr. Dept.; Mrs. Judy -, Miss Judy Walters, Primary Dept.; Miss Margaret Walters, Miss Catherine Carter, Beginner Dept. Miss Ann Latham was pianist and David Menchhofer had charge of the Visual Aid program. Miss Trevillian will be working with Forest Grove UVBS for the week of July 20.-.-^
