If quotas are approved by at least two-thirds of the farmers voting in the referendum, acreage allotment will be in effect on all wheat seeded for grain. Each farmer must seed within his farm acreage allotment to be eligible for price support, which is guaranteed at 90% of parity. A farmer who does not comply with his acreage allotment is not eligible for price support, the PMA Chairman pointed out. He further noted that a fanner with a wheat acreage allotment larger than 15 acres is subject to a marketing quotas penalty on all wheat producted on acreage in excess of his farm acreage allotment.
