Bny Revercomb Homestead
The old George Revercomb homestead at Peola Mills has been sold to Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Jones of Washington, D. C. The house consists of 9 rooms, 1% baths, and two inclosed porches, and faces the Hughes River. The surrounding six acres contain numerous outbuildings, trees and fine old boxwoods.
The new owners plan to spend their week ends at Peola Millsyy during the fall and winter, before moving in as a retirement home next spring.
Mr. Jones as an experienced construction man is planning extensive repairs and improvements to the house and grounds.
Mrs. Jones has for years been employed at the Capitol in Washington, D. C. Her home formerly in Orange county. Mr. Jones is from the Danville area. The sale was negotiated by Hening & Pillar, brokers of Sperryville.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED
Mrs. Alice Clark celebrated her 90th birthday Saturday, October 3. Amon the well-wishers wree Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Clark of Martinsville and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Marshall of Burke. Mrs. Clarke is in good health, except for an infected foot which makes her forego her daily trips “up town” .... these she sorely misses. She wishes to express her gratitude to the many who remembered her with cards and gifts.
