Mrs. Franc's Carter was given a surprise birthday party October 1 in her home by neighbors. Those present were Mrs. Hattie Richardson, Mrs. Havanna Jeffries, Mrs. Lily Holland, Mrs. Ed Bailey, Mrs. Virginia Brown, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Dearing, Mrs. John Barbour and children, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Carter and Mr. Louis Carter., A delicious repast was served. Mr. Bernette, of Ft. Meade, Maryland visited his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Carter Sunday after noon. Mrs. Ruth Wall and Mrs. Mary Lucas of Washington were week-end guests of Mr* and Mrs. Louis Carter and relatives.
