The strategy of eliminating opponents, taught at West Point, seems to be bearing fruit for President Eisenhower.

With the appointment of Governor Earl Warren, of California, as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, one of the strongest contenders for the G.O.P. presidential nomination in ’56 has been disposed of.

Although President Eisenhower has been suffering from a sore arm (possibly flycastinitis) his faculties for planning for the future have not been affected.
