Designated Drouth Area

The Department of Agriculture has emphasized to Rep. Burr P. Harrison that Rappahannock farmers wishing to obtain feed under the drought disaster relief plan must apply through the County Drought Committee. This -committee is composed of H. S. Barksdale, chairman; W. H. Lyne, county agent; M. B. Fields,. FHA; J. Rodes Brown, and Wade H. ivlassie, Jr.

In each of the 37 counties in Virginia approved for Federal Disaster relief, this committee consists of the chairman of the county PMA Committee, the county agrici^tural agent, the county supervisor for the Farmers’ -Home Administration, and a banker and active farmer chosen by the other three.
