Letter from Dr. W. L. Bendix, State Veterinarian, reports that at a meeting of representatives of the various segments of the beef cattle industry it was decided to reduce the maximum indemnity for Bang’s reactors from $25.00 to $10.00 for grade cows and from $50.00 to $20.00 for purebred animals.

The third and final county wide Bangs control program for Rappahannock in 1955 will be conducted the first week in November. Owners having heifer calves' 4-8 months of age to be Bang’s vaccinated; or cows and heifers up to 30 months of age that they, want tested for Bangs are requested to contact my office by not later than Friday, October 28th. <

Shen-Valley Meat Packers, Inc. has announced opening of a Buying Station located on Highway 230, five mles west of Orange and nine miles east of Madison at Burnt Tree. The station will be operated one day ^ week, every Wednesday. They will buy hogs from 160 to 300 Igs. weight cattle, calves minimum weight 450 lbs. No veals nor sheep or lambs. You can sell on liveweight or carcass basis, payment to be made from the main office at Timberville.
