it seems good advice to hold onto old hens as long as they are making feed costs. Egg prices will be relatively high through next month.

Prices have improved $1 at Virginia’s feeder calf sales in the past two weeks.
Best steers were bringing i$22 to $25 with some over $30. Heifers showed most improvement with an average of $17 to $18 and a top over $20.
This , still leases a good price gap between heifers and steers for a feeder who can handle heifiers.
Once again, it’s time to unload those cows. Cow prices dropped another $1 last week to $9.40. There is still more drop in them when a good freeze kills off the grass. I
Steers'dropped off $1 last week too, reaching $18.10, about the same as the same week a year! ago. Steer prices probably are near bottom. ] Veal prices jumped up $1.50 to $24, with choice and prime bringing $26.50 last week. Except for minor drops like the recent ones, veal prices probably will continue their usual climb until the first of the year.
