Escapes Injury As
Car Hits Tree
Jimmy Lillard luckily escaped serious injury when his car left the highway and hit a tree south of Flint Hill neaar Pullen Town early Monday morning.
Jimmy, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Carson Lillard, was enroute to Arlington, where he is foreman for a tree surgeon company, when the accident occured. He was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital by M. H. Brady, Jr. Following treatment for minor cuts and bruises, he was released.
The car was badly damaged.
Miss Curry Honored
At Farewell Party
Miss Judy Black entertained a £roup of teenagers at a party Friday evening honoring Miss Maureen Curry, who will leave this fall for England. Among those invited were Misses Betty Taylor Bruce, Margaret Ann Devers, Juanita Dodson, Judy Hawkins, Peachy Lyne, Mary Lou Davis, Patricia Reeve, Carolyn Turner, Bernice, Joan and Joyce Nethers, Elizabeth Smith, Rebecca Jones, Neville Wood, Mary Norman Davis, Robert Baker, J. W. Brown, Kenneth Clater, Jackie and Bobby Rutherford. Bobby Menefee, Chucky Wayland, Claybum Kuhn, Galley Smith, Johnny Browning, Tommy Carpenter, Francis Bruce and George Davis. Dancing was enjoyed by the group and refreshments were served at a later hour.
