By the time sudan has reached a heighth of 18 inches under normal conditions, the prussic acid content is low enough to permit grazing without injury to animals. After a frost or freeze however, new growth that occurs is likely to contain an extremely high content o£prussic acid.
If frosted sudan grass was safe to use before the frost, that is if it was 18 inches tall or taller, it can be used for hay or silage if cut immediately after the frost before new shoots have a chance to start.
