Miss Janie Hawkins
Dies At Residence
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 1961 from Clore Funeral Home, Culpeper, for Miss Janie Hawkins of Slate Mills, who died at her home there Sunday morning. The Rev. Dewey Underwood, pastor of Slate Milk Baptist Church, of which she was a member, conducted last rites. Burial was in the family section of Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.
Pallbearers were Curtis Lee Weaver, Ralph Rowzie, George Hawkins, Stonewall Kilby, Irvin Sullivan, Edward Green, Joe Hawkins and George Thornhill.
Native of Rappahannock County and daughter of George Washington Hawkins and Annie Elizabeth Burke, his wife, Jane Elizabeth IH'awkins was 80 years of age.
She is survived by two brothers, Yeager Hawkins of Slate Mills, with whom she made her home, and Amos Hawkins of Washington, D. C.
Also surviving are four nephews, George W , of Sperryville, Lester of Alexandria, Joseph of Boston, and Amos Hawkins of Nokesville; and four nieces, Mrs.
