The University Extension •
The Board of Supervisors has put off until its January meeting consideration,of the University of Virginia Extension Center. It is anticipated/that this center will be built in Madisa« to serve the Counties df Greene, Orange, Madison, Culpeper and Rappahannock.
Under present plans, freshman and junior courses of college credit will be offered to residents of the five county area, at greatly reduced tuition, and of course, students will be able to commute, thus eliminating entirely the expense of board amj room.
Four of the five 'counties have appropriated their respecthc shares.. But each appropriation is. contingentupon the entire five county group participating. Now only Rappahannock.remains to be heard from. It is certainly hoped the Board wil back this fine project by voting its share toward the center.
