Starts Tree Seedling
Delivery
The first tree seedlings to Virginia landowners for the 1961-’62 reforestation planting season are on their way, District Forester D. G. Wilfong, Jr. states. Before April 1, 1962, over 50,000,000 trees will have been sold, delivered, and planted.
Tree seedlings available for planting this planting season are loblolly, white, shortleaf and Virginia pine, yellow poplar, and black locust. Prices range from $4,50 per thousand to $10.50 per thousand delivered.
Landowners interested in reforesting idle, cut-over, or abandoned land are urged to contact their County Agent, Soil Conservation Office, A.C.P. Office, Chief forest warden, or area forester.
