Hot Springs (The Homestead) —Gen. and Mrs. Dwight D. Eisenhower met here today with Republican candidate for Congress from the Seventh District of Virginia, J. Kenneth Robinson, and his wife “Kit”.
At an informal meeting in the Eisenhower Suite, the former President said that his conference with Robinson was in keeping with his present campaign to encourage vigorous young people to take part in the political affairs of the Republican party.
“I am impressed by Kenneth Robinson’s enthusiastic determination and feel confident he will get the support of the voters. It was a pleasure meeting with him in this beautiful Area of Virginia, a part of the District he will represent upon going to Congress,” said the former President.
“The trends of the present administration can be halted through he election of a Republican Congress,” Gen. Eisenhower added.
Robinson said his meeting with Mr. Eisenhower was stimulating and as a result he felt a “greater determination” in his campaign effort.
“I consider it a wonderful experience to meet with this great American who has dedicated himself to the well-being of his county,” said Pobinson.
Mrs. Eisenhower and “Kit" were engaged in their own informal chat during the conference.
