25TO3 106.52 425 Thirty-one buyers came from N. Y., Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Ohio. Of these 13 were repeat customers who bought 45'}( of the total calves consigned.
Top price “Show Calf” was $57.00 cwt. for a Fanny steer calf weighing 560 lbs. which was bought by Roland Mullinix of Woodbine, Maryland. James W. Fletcher of Sperryville was the consignor.
Mr. Mullinix in buying 38 other Fancy Steers reported getting “the best lot of calves I’ve ever bought at any sale.” One of the largest feeders of slaughter cattle in the east, Mr. Mulliryix is also a consistant winner in the fat cattle classes at the Eastern National.
Medfords Inc., of Chester, Pa., was the largest buyer in getting 147 head of good grade steers. Other ‘large’ buyers were Allen Driver of Maryland and The Miller Farm of Ohio; each purchased 124 head. A total Of 1241 head sold for $167,766.33.
