There are many residents of Virginia who pay very substantial income and personal property taxes to the Commonwealth and the communities in which they reside. The apartments and rental properties in which these non-realty owners live are on the tax bills.
The rents paid by these residents include real property taxes, income and investments, maintenance tax, etc.
To say that because a man is a renter and therefore pays no real property tax is not only untrue but unfair.
These persons, many whom have lived in the state of Virginia for a great number of years and are as vitally interested in its progress and stability, should not be disfranchised.
Vote against this proposed amendment to the state constitution.
