Aldridge Grimsley Hitt of Castleton died Tuesday, October 16, at University of Virginia Hospital following a recent illness. Son of the late Zachary Taylor Hitt and his wife, Betty Dean, and a native of Rappahannock County, he was 69.
His wife, the late Estella Hitt, died ten years ago. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Robert Brown Of Culpeper; two sons, Mitchell Lee Hitt of Culpeper and Aldridge Hitt, Jr., of Remington; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, William Hitt of Castleton, John Hitt of Staunton and Joseph Hitt of Amissville.
