Button, Sr., dairyman from the Jeffersonton afea was the recipient of a similar award for Culpeper County. Mr. Button holds the distinction of bein? the eleventh oldest cooperator in the entire district and was one of the very first to establish his crop rotations in contour strips.
A. D. Stone, dairyman from the Remington area of Fauquier County received a plaque in recognition of his efforts in getting the owners of 60,000 acres of land in his county organized, resulting in their joining the Culpeper Soil Conservation District.
£.4^ G. Ragsdale, Culpeper Soil Conservation District Supervisor from Culpeper County made the presentation to Mr. and Mrs. Button. Edwin Gulick, Acting Soil Conservation District Supervisor from Fauquier County' presented the plaque to Mr. and Mrs. Stone.
Winners from other counties comprising the District included: Sam Funkhouser, Orange;* N. H. McMullen, Madison; andv Whitehall Snow, Greene
After presentation of awards Mr. J. Carlton Clore, local farmer and funeral director, gave % very interesting illustrated lecture on his tour behind the iron curtain earlier this summer. , j
