Woodville WMU-Bro’hood
The WMU and Brotherhood of Woodville Baptist Church held their monthly covered dish supper at the parsonage on Wednesday, October 17 with 18 in attendance.
After the meal the group divided and the men and boys enjoyed a session at the ping-pong table while the women and girls got down to more serious business.
They were led in a study of the Significance of the WMU Emblem by Mrs James Falls. In the study they discovered that the emblem is in the shape of a double fish head and has on it 1888, the year WMU was organized; a torch representing Jesus, the Light of the World; a Bible which reveals the task in missionary endeavor; a globe to show the field is the world and the watchword, “Laborers together with God” I Corinthians 3:9, which emphasizes the responsibility of each WMU member.
Plans were made to attend the Sue Slaughter Group meeting at the Forest Grove church on the 18th and representing the Woodville Church at that meeting
