Report cards were issued Monday to the chagrin of some. I realize there are two sides to every report card, but I must sympathize with some students.
Dr. J. P. Snead, Jr., his son and associate, Dr. John Snead, IV gave each student a going over last week. Most of us seemed to be in tiptop physical condition. It’s strange that the seniors weren’t run down due to the effort it takes to struggle through “Ivanhoe”, part of their required reading for the six-week period.
The Rev. C. F. Melton spoke at an Assembly on Thursday. With his wife teaching and his daughter a student here, he must have felt right at home at 'RCHS.
The latest craze is eating allday suckers. I wish I could change is to selling ads for the annual. Any student selling over $50.00 worth will receive a free annual. Bettie Miller, who has repeatedly been high salesman for the magazine campaign, has passed this goal. All you cohorts muster your initiatfve and dig-in.
Of course I know many of the RCHS students are awfully busy for a greater number than usual are working after school hours and weekends. Working on Skyline Drive are Charlie Smith, Kay Johnston, Roy Atkins and Charlotte Moore. At Col. Holmes frozen custard and apple stand near town, Gary Deal, Tish Kilby, Lyle Updike
W. Fletcher, Eldon Inc., Mrs. Noyes, Col. McNear, Mrs. Imogene Pullen, Jas. H. Falls and D. D. Miller & Son are planning to increase the size of their herds.
