A record turnout of 350 people visited the Tour Houses in the County on Saturday and Sunday from as far away as Winchester, Staunton, Maryland and Washington, D. C. The weather on Saturday was perfect with a slight nip in the air. On Sunday there were showers early in the morning and quite warm the rest of the day with a slight overcast.
There were 165 visitors on Saturday in comparison with 84 on the same day last year when it stormed.
Great excitement developed when one of the Interior Decorators from Washington, D. C. mentioned that he was considering one of the arrangements for “Mrs. Kennedy’s bedroom”. Upon being questioned he said he was thinking of Mrs. Robert Kennedy’s house and decided the container was not appropriate although he selected numerous others.
