1. Prevent forest fires:
Forest fires are a double-barreled threat. They damage and destroy standing timber which could have been sold. They also destroy tomorrow’s trees by killing the young seedlings and desirable reproduction. Any burning operations, which are done on the farm, should be carried out with extreme care. Most people who plan to start a fire have no plan to stop it. Before a brush or trash fire is started, be certain that sufficient precautions have been taken to stop it.
