Jones has resigned from the Virginia State Apple Commission in which capacity he has diligently and faithfully represented apple gro-wers of^Rappahannock and surrounding counties. Orchardlsts regret that Mn Jones finds it necessary to take this step for his leader* ship has meant much to all segments of the industry._ However, since he was appointed Clerk of the Court of Rappahannock County early this year, Mr. Jones feels that he cannot give adequate time to both positions for good results. A new commissioner will be elected by referendum in May to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Jones which is concluded July 1, 1964. Local growers should contact Mr Jones to petition for a replacement of their choice. This must be done by April 11.
