Democrats Vote for
Direct July Primary
The Democratic Committee of Rappahannock County voted to select candidates for the general election November 5 by direct primary, according to James W. - Fletcher, Chairman of the Committee. The primary will be held July 9, 1963. The Committee met March 20 in the courthouse in Washington.
Offices to be filled are Treasurer, Commonwealth’s Attorney, Commissioner of Revenue, Sheriff and members of the Board of Supervisors. All candidates must file notice of candidacy by April 10. Other business of the meeting included the election of Mrs. Fred Schaefer to the Committee as a member I from Piedmont District to replace Miss Louise Schwartz who no longer lives
| in the county. Dabney Easr= j ham was also elected to reI place Frank Cary, deceased, as a member from Wakefield District.
Majorettes Seek
New Members
The Amissville Twirlettes, a majorette group organized last year, are seeking new members between the ages of 3 and 16. Lessons are free of charge and practice sessions are held every Monday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Amissville fire hall. Girls of the required ages are urged to join this group.
