Essay Contest
For the fourteenth year the Warren - Rappahannock - Clarke Tuberculosis Association is sponsoring an essay contest for ninth grade English students, with the closing date of May 1st. The Health Education and Public Information Committee has chosen the topic 'What Can I Do Personally to Prevent TB?” and offers a prize to a winner from each school when at least three essays are entered. essays from each class are j to be submitted and the assignment will be limited to 800 words. Each entry will carry the name of the teacher and an identification of the student known only to the teacher. The committee, composed mostly of teachers, has suggested that the assignment be required of the entire class membership arid should not only teach the students how to gather materials and information as a basis for their work but would be graded on
the principles of good essay [ composition. The essays are due May 1st at the Tuberculosis Office at 8 East Jackson Street 1 or may be left at the Health Department in any of the three counties.
