Funeral services were held Monday, March 25 at Maddox Funeral Home Chapel for Ernest Thompson (Pete) Shiner of Front Royal who died March 22, 1963 at the age of 59. Mr. - Shiner for many years operated his own drug store and was well known by Rappahannock residents. At the time of his death he was chairman of the Warren County School Board and active in many civic and state projects. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Amy Ritter Shiner; two sons, Philip T. Shiner and John Stewart Shiner of Front Royal ; one daughter Mrs. Karl Duff of Richmond and one grandchild. Also a brother Hubert H. Shiner of Petersburg and a sister, Mrs Stewart C. Payne of Front Royal. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. ,C. TV .Boyd, the Rev. Albert Sikkelee and the Rev. J. Layton Mauze, III with interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Walter Dodson
Walter Dodson of Laurel Mills died Tuesday, March 19, at the residence of Albert Compton where he had been making his home. Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Dodson of Rappahannock county, he was 70.
He Is survived by one son, William L. Dodson of Remington, one daughter. Miss Margaret Dodson of Lynchburg, two grandchildren, and one brother, Pete Dodson of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Funeral services were held March 21 at the Geest funeral chapel In Culpeper, with Interment following in Massanova Cemetery at Laurel Mills. The Rev. Clem Walters conducted the last rites.
Pallbearers were Eastham Fincham, Ernest Fincham, Elwood Whorton, Albert Compton, Clifton Fincham and Mackendrlck Blankenbaker.
