Willie W. Walter
Willie Waugh Walter, 67, of The Plains, died early Saturday morning, March 23, 1963, at his home.
, Mr. Walter, a native of Amissville, Rappahannock County, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Walter. He was a retired farmer and veteran of World War I.
Surviving with his wife, Elizabeth Withrow Walter are five daughters. Miss Laura Walter of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Kenneth Ellison and Mrs. Harry Heflin, Jr. of The Plains, Mrs. Harold Brawley of San Martin, Calif, and Mrs. David Settlage, Jackson, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Julia Curtis of Front Royal, Mrs. Effie Hiss Pasadena, Md.; and Mrs. Walter Owens of Washington, D. C.; two brothers, Robert Walter of Charlottesville and Raymond Walter of Baltimore, Md. Also seven grand* children.
A funeral service was held Monday at 2 p.m. from Amissville Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ralph Stalter officiated assisted by the pastor of The Plains Methodist Church.
Active pallbearers were Frank, Hiss, Amos Walter, Byrne Walter, Jack Curtis, William Curtis and Robert Walter, Jr. _
