Others are Aliens (a small number) IV- Cj.the sole suriving sons of families who have lost one or more sons and daughters in service, IV-A.

The deferred classes are as follows: These classifications end when the conditions on which they are based no longer exist in any individual case. There are no group or class deferments; each is assigned on an individual basis. Each is reviewed periodically and an occupational deferment is limited to a maximum period of one year at a time. A deferment extends the age of liability to 35. Deferred classifications are: IV-F and I-Y are the largest group considered deferred; these are men not qualified for service. III-A

is the dependency class; II-A, critical occupation; Il-C, farm deferment; II-S student deferment; I-S student deferment; I-D are satisfactory members of a Reserve component, including National Guard and ROTC. There are eighteen classes some of them subdivided. V- A is the class for registrants who are over the age of liability for military service.
