Plans for other forms of entertainment and interest are in progress. The climax of the evening will be the viewing of a luminari display and fireworks at Avon Hall. This is ah annual event with Mr. and Mrs. William Carrigan at Avon Hall to entertain their friends and houseguests. This year they have kindly invited county residents to view the display from the hill below the town marker lot. Parking on Gay Street will be within easy walking distance. Additional information on this gala day will be given at a later date. A meeting has been called for Friday, May 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the Library building to make further plans. It is hoped that a representative group from the county will be present. Those attending the meeting last week in addition to the host and hostess were Mrs. C. E. Johnson of Sperry, ville, Mrs. Barbara Gentry of Flint Hill, Mrs. B. M. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Palmer, Judge Rayner V. Snead, Mrs. Henry M. Keyser, Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., the Misses Anna May and Josephine Stambaugh and Miss Barbara Jones, all of Washington.
