Washington P.T.A. Holds Final Meet of Session
The last meeting for this session of the Washington Elementary School P.T.A. was held May 15. The treasurer reported $194.95 as the treasury balance. Mrs. John Williams suggested a public dinner be held the first Friday in November as the first project of the organization for the coming year. This initial project would bring old and new members together to share an interest in the work of the P.T.A. The open-, stairway leading to the cafeteria was discussed. This stair way needs to be enclosed for as It is now the children have to go out into the weather to get to the cafeteria. A suggestion was made that the Building Inspector from the State I Board of Education be contacted to inspect the existing i stairs and offer proposals for enclosing it. Mrs. Williams offered to contact the Superintendent’s office In Front Royal and the local School Board for permission to call an inspector.
Plans were made for the resale of used text books. Parents who wish may leave used books at the school to be sold in the fall. Books should be left on June 5 and a receipt will be issued June 7 with a duplicate filed at the ; school. At the beginning of the fall school session the i books will be sold and pa- i
