County Christmas Seal Chairman join with Arthur Godfrey the Area Christmas Seal Chairman of the Tuberculosis and Health Association of Northern Virginia in thanking those 11,659 understanding and humanitarian persons who contributed to help find, control and prevent tuberculosis .and other respiratory diseases. Their gratitude is also expressed to the hundreds of volunteers who made it possible to contact by mail the 30,923 families in the area who received Christmas Seal letters, as well as the managers and personnel of the radio stations and newspapers. The office has reported that of the total who received letters, 12,833 answered and 1607 letters were sent to people who had moved or the address was wrong and 16,488 have not been heard from. With almost $10,000 still needed, it is these 16,488 who can make it possible, it was reported by Mrs. Gladys Harris, Executive Director.Every bit is helpful, she told us, and said they welcome letters such as one received which read "Please find enclosed a little gift for this great cause, for which is greatly needed for those afflicted. Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year and good Health. The campaign figures as of the first of this week were as follows: Clarke,$2,033.97; Eauquier, $5,237.70; 'Frederick$7,425J5; Loudoun, $4,566.75; P age, $2,841.55; Rappahannock, $803.75;Shenandoah $3,596.95; Warren, $3,938.25; and Unknown$8.00.
