go for materials tomake their immortal prose and poetry for in them is basic American life and thought. Who called it "Grass Roots*? When we read the fiction and nonfiction on rural life we are reading about ourselves - in a sense these works are our biographies who knows that tomorrow our children will be the material for the new generation of authors. It will be so. What will it be like? Each generation writes its own history, whether it be biography, fiction, poetry or in any other form it is our own. To read our literature is then to look in a mirror. The truth about ourselves can be found in our own writings. It ife interesting that we have the literature of past generations by which to make comparison, and thereby see how we are doing in our own time. A number of the above authors mentioned are in our library, and several not listed of equal value and should be read. TV is todays greatest enemy to good reading habits but a good and fascinating book can provide a wealth of information and pleasure no TV could ever provide. Let us show the library staff that we are not letting TV take over. Books can be borrowed on Wednesdays pm and Saturday mornings. There will be a general meeting of the library board Friday 7:30 p.m. January 10th at the library. This will be an open meeting, anyone interested will be welcomed.
