New Facilities
Slated For Park
Superintendent R. Taylor Hoskins of Shenandoah Nat ional Park, today told of a number of new facilities to be constructed in the Park. These include a 500-seat amphitheat* er for the new Loft Mountain Campground in the South Di» trict and a visitor center at Big Meadows in the Central District.
The announcement came on the eve of Shenandoah’s 28th birthday. The lands making up (he Park were purchased by Virginians and their friends, between May, 1926 and Dec. 1935. The Park lands were presented to the Secretary of Interior on December 26,1935, as a belated Christmas gift to the nation.
