Mrs. Reba Dabney and Mrs. W, A. Lawson of Arlington were visitors last week of friends in town. Bob Cook was the guest last week of his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. p. Cook. Mr. Cook who is in the National Park Service has recently been transferred from Cape Cod National Seashore Park in Massacusetts to Harper’s Ferry National Historical Park in West Virginia. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence MoCulloch of Fairfax were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Brady. The Baptist Missionary Society met Friday night at the home of Mrs. Judd Burke with six members present. Mrs. John S. Browning conducted the program having as her subject “Our Jewish Neighbors."
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller spent the week-end at Madison Heights as guests df Mr. and Mrs. Carl Howell. The Rev. and Mrs. James B. Grimmer accompanied by Mrsi Jessie Fincham of Washington were guests Sunday afternoon of the Rev. and Mrs. William Jester at Afton. Mrs. M. R. Bradford and Miss Virginia Yates Bradford were visitors Saturday at Mary Baldwin College in Staurvi ton. Mrs. Fannie' Eastham and Mr. and Mrs. Lock Burford entertained Friday at dinner having as guests Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Eastham and family, Mrs. Wade H. Massie, jr., Miss Virginia Yates Bradford, Mrs. G. W. Smith, jr.,*and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Spalding. Mr. and Mrs. Grady Vest and children Allen andRennee were guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Nicholson in Woodbridge and visited the Washington Zoo. Miss Mary Ella Atkins was the Saturday over-night guest of Miss Linda Fay Nicholson of Maurer town. Mrs. Eva Smith and son Charlie were afternoon visitors Sunday of Mrs. C.M.M. Green in Amissville. Saturday evening visitors of Mrs. Smith were Mr. and Mrs. James Yates of Boston.
Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Foster included Mr. and Mrs. Irving Corbin and family of Annandale, Mr. and MrS. Claude Foster, Mu and Mrs. Cavor Foster and son Chris. Edgar (Butch) Browning of the University of Va., Charlottesville spent the week-end with his parents Mr. and Mrs. John S. Browning. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Foster accompanied by two granddaughters Sandra and Charlotte and Mrs. Edgar Payne of Rockland attended the Herbert-Barron wedding Sunday afternoon at Orlean. The bride Miss Cornelia Barron is a niece of the Fosters.
