Mrs. Rosa Burton
Mrs. Rosa D. Burton, wife of the late Dewitt B. Burton, died Sunday, April 19, 1964 at the Luray Nursing Home. She was 96. Born in Madison County, she lived her later life •in Rappahannock. Her first marriage was to George Nethers. Surviving are two daughters and a son; Mrs. L. V. Merrill of Washington, Mrs. Walter Taylor of Culpeper and Cecil M. Nethers of Oldtown, Md.; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, also a step-daughter, Miss Lottie Burton of Washington. Graveside services were held Tuesday, at 11 o’clock at Etlan with the Rev. Arnold Sorrells officiating. Pallbearers were Leon Bailey, Carlton Dulaney, Willie Dulaney, Dutton Yowell Faountain Jenkins, Roy Strickler, Harry Gallihugh Champ Blankenbaker and Olney Mitchell. The arrangements were in charge of the Geest Funeral Parlors.
